BPM is process monitoring, not activity monitoring--BAM
monitors data. BPM monitors metrics across the entire business
process. BAM is typically being offered as a lesser substitute for BPM
by Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) providers that are trying to
enter into the new BPM market with only a modified solution, in other
words without a pure-play, direct approach or solution.
Such
suppliers just pass data between many different applications. But the
focus of BPM is not data, it is how healthy are my business processes to
continuously meet your stakeholders’ goals.
