Keystone Foods
Corporation, the main meat and poultry processor for McDonald’s
Restaurants in the Eastern United States, required an upgrading of their
transportation management capability.
An in-depth evaluation of
Keystone’s support system by our supply chain and operations management
practice indicated that in order to increase visibility and gain better
control of their transportation network, Keystone would need to expand
their capabilities. This needed to be accomplished as quickly as
possible—within reason, but most importantly, within their operating
budget. We recommended that Keystone outsource a portion of their
transportation requirements.
After a detailed
analysis, we recommended that Keystone utilize Manugistics
Transportation to increase their transportation capability throughout
their seven operating locations. Employing Manugistics would allow
Keystone to expand its capability by the addition of rolling stock to
its equipment inventory as well as the non-quantifiable element of
improved control of operating assets and improved customer service.
